THE BUILDING
Terra Cotta Lofts was built in 1915 as a seven-story structure and was the original headquarters of the Missouri State Life Insurance Company located at 1501 Locust in downtown St. Louis. In 1923 the white-glazed terra cotta building was increased to twelve stories high. By 1956 the building became an important landmark in the St. Louis skyline when a florescent weather globe was installed on the roof. It now houses 99 residential condominiums and a few businesses.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
After many years of neglect on the exterior masonry, the property owners at Terra Cotta Lofts desired to fund repairs in a phased approach. Since 2013, B & K Tuckpointing has worked on the exterior of the historic building while minimizing inconvenience to the tenants in the fully occupied building.
